Self Portrait Time Capsule

I've been really enjoying receiving Photojobo's time capsule emails, it is fun to see what my photos looked like a year ago. Especially since I traded up cameras, and am currently pretty satisfied with my Nikon D40x. I was also looking through my self portrait set...which dates back to 3/4 years ago and chose some of my favorites to create the below collage. The upper left photo was taken when I first moved to NYC, 3 years ago, The most recent photo is in the lower right corner, that photo was taken this past Saturday so while most of the photos are pretty current they do range in time making them a time capsule of sorts.

I just finished a little project for my friend Abby who just revamped her blog with a fresh wedding theme. I illustrated this bride and created a fun header for her.

Spring 2008 Chloe and Stella McCartney

Chloe & Stella

This is a fairly large (11x14) illustration that is in progress, but I thought I would give you a sneak peek! I have some line work and coloring to finish up, but Chloe(left) is wearing a look from Chloe's Spring 2008 collection, and Stella(right) is wearing a look from Stella McCartney's Spring 2008 collection...what else would they be wearing?

The illustration is somewhat similar to an illustration I gave my sister for Christmas. I like that "sisters" illustration better of course for obvious reasons, but also because it makes me laugh. I drew one sister a head taller than the other, and I find it amusing that people always assume that is the *older* sister when in my case my sister is 6 years younger than me and about 4/5/maybe 6? (oh god..I'm depressed just thinking about it) inches taller than me. These girls in the above illustration look more like frenemies...but isn't that always the way it is? :) Have a wonderful rest of the week!

Tulips

This is my second tulip painting (see my first one here) ...this time in brown and white. I finished the painting last night, and I'm happy with it.  It is slightly smaller than the first but is also done in acrylics! I feel like I'm getting stuff done...crossing things off my to-do list.  Now I'm off to help Abby with some wedding design related projects...more on that later!

Today It Snowed

Why winter decided to pummel NYC just when we were preparing for the end of February and the beginning of SPRING I will never know...









I'm glad I snapped these photos this morning (even though it was still snowing), because it RAINED and now there is only a slushy mess.




(Also, there was a shooting RIGHT outside my building, they haven't caught the guy, and even though I typically don't carry thousands of dollars (or even hundreds of dollars), I am terrified to leave...snow or no snow. Ahhh, just another day at the office. :))
