Very nice drawing.
Oh - I love the idea of illustration Friday!! This is beautiful. I love ink drawings. My mom was an artist (well, still is - but she used to teach art). I remember her being in art school when I was little.. ink pens and a sketch book always remind me of that.
This is just a lovely illustration. I hope the bird comes back. Maybe he's just behind the nest.
you know it is sad but in the spring time, i always see baby birds who fell out of their nests. it is so heartbreaking and that is really what made me take this approach. My beagle, Sophia Loren, always sniffs them out and i have to steer her away...i always think a mama bird is going to come back to her nest and be traumatized when there is a missing baby! HOW SAD. i know that is a bit sinister to think about but that was my thinking when i drew this!!!!! :)

Sad subject but very clever idea for this weeks topic. Beautifully drawn.
Love the drawing I love ink drawings, but I always go with pencil I am not confident enough I have to use a pencil, except when I am sketching something fast and furious.

lovely line work - i have a soft spot for animals, particularly baby birds - you always want to get them back to the nest, but the very thing (distance from the ground) that keeps them safe also dooms them.
i know it is so sad! *tear :( it is my least favorite thing about spring (that and rain)
Aw, our illos were very similar for "missing" weren't they? :( It is sad when the baby birds fall out of their nests. This spring my hubby was clearing a little patch of our woods and cutting down old cedar trees. Apparently he bothered a hawk (or some other BIG bird's) nest, and we found 2 baby birds. We tried to keep them inside, but they wouldn't eat. We saw 2 big birds flying around that area and calling out. We hoped they were the parents, so we took the babies back out and left them near where their nest was. :( I hate to think of what may have happened to them if their parents didn't come scoop them up. Of course he had no idea of the nest being there...I told him next time to wait until FALL to clear the trees! Bless their (and my hubby's) hearts!
