{22/365} Crazy Beautiful

I am having trouble getting inspired with the cold, the short days, and my crazy work schedule. The light has just sucked, and the snow is gone the second it hits the ground. I wish I could get one wonderland snow that I can photograph, but in NYC it turns to slush in an instant! I promise photos will get better soon!

{12/365} An Attempt to Soar

Story: I spotted these balloons caught in the tree YESTERDAY, but didn't have my camera with me. That of course is the cardinal sin of doing a 365 project. I kicked myself all day! I should note however, that the REASON why I didn't take my camera is 1) I had already taken several photos that morning and 2)I was carrying cupcakes to work because I am a nice person :). Anyway, I brought my camera with me today and walked past the same tree, and luckily the balloons were still caught! :) The moral of the story is that I will bring a camera with me wherever I go from here on out. P.S. I pick up my 120 film at the lab today. Hopefully, it will be a good turnout! Wish me luck.

Happy Birthday To Me!

Today is my 27th birthday, and it is also the first day of my 365 photo project.  It is my mission to contribute one original photo a day for one year.  The photo can be of anything, because the mission is for me to learn & experiment with photography & my various cameras. I expect there will be several self portraits within the 365 days, so I found it unnecessary to limit myself to one style.  Please note, I will be shooting both digital & film, so I will be posting my film shots a bit later than the actual day, but will be closely keeping track of the dates and will be posting them here and on flickr. Wish me luck, this is my first attempt at such a task!

Escape from the City

I took these photos on Christmas morning outside my grandparent's house in Iowa. They have such a calm & serene quality to them. It is such a contrast to my daily life in New York that I thought I would share them.








P.S. my 27th birthday is coming up on Saturday January 10th, I am planning to make that my first photo for my 365 project! Hopefully I will be able to keep it up for a year! More on that later!
